The products of gasification are then converted to energy through a series of steps while using heat exchangers and scrubbers.
Minimal emission of methane which is a hydrocarbon to the atmosphere another advantage of biomass energy. Methane is one of the leading causes of global warming when released to the air. Biomass production makes use of methane produced from the decomposition of animal and plant organic matter by converting it to energy. The need for landfills will be reduced if biomass energy is encouraged as it makes use of the large volumes of plant and animal wastes that are produced daily. Biomass energy can be utilized in a wide range of areas except for the desert areas where the plants cannot quickly grow. Biomass also produces power energy and therefore can be used to generate power in areas with insufficient resources.
